“Domestication” is an extension of “Mrs. Pie-der.” This piece is made up of three illustrated images that animate our long-legged protagonist. The drawings show her as she slowly creeps out of the oven and ultimately breaks the glass cage that holds her image. This version of Mrs. Pie-der acts as a rebellious contrast to her previous soft-sculpture state. Not only do these illustrations continue to criticize the sexism deeply rooted in this particular feminine archetype, but they also explore the possibility of breaking free from the expectations and limitations placed upon our beautiful creature.
